Free rewards web sites for real?

I'm curious to see if all of those free rewards websites that promises you a free iMac or whatever are for real. I've read that if you do everything it says you will actually receive the gift because they benefit from it. I understand you have to complete tasks or offers or whatever. I'm willing to do surveys and stuff but i won't give out a credit card number. Anybody know anything about it?

Ya I'm ashamed to say I took up that offer.. I joined this book club and then whored my info out to some survey sites.. and got nothing in return.. it takes up a lot of your time.. and some money. If you do decide to go ahead read all of the fine print. When you do get taken advantage of theirs nothing you can do about it.. :(
Reply:Read the fine print on the web site. By the time you've jumped through all the hoops to get the free Imac or whatever, it would be cheaper just to go out and buy it.
