What web enabled software can power large organizational websites w/ membership management, CMS, Events, RSS?

I'm interested in the top providers for a well rounded solution including all modules for member engagement via modules like member management, surveys, articles, press releases, RSS and podcasting content generation from other modules, catalogs, committees, CMS, editable navigation, job board, shopping cart, calendar events scheduling and consolidation, emails and newsletters, contacts, reports and event logs, etc. I'd also like this content to rank well with search engines to gain new members through online awareness of our member engagement. Please name all member management software providers that apply.

And please update me on what I am missing out on as far as capabilities I did not mention.

Reply:look for Miami Ink, its a tv show in TLC and under TLC's main website, and miami ink should have a link through there, they have a ton of pictures of the different tattoos. But the best way would be to find a good artist and have the person doing the tattoo help design it.
Reply:google many free sites that can be downloaded for @ 10$ each
Reply:the BEST is www.bmezine.com anything you can think of is on there.
Reply:tattoofinder.com

In Outlook Express I get no response when I click a web link in an email. I does nothing Can this be fixed?

The links in incoming emails don't work. I can not click any link in an email and go to the websites. I do surveys for a local company and this is getting frustrating, Help!!! Please?

In Outlook Express I get no response when I click a web link in an email. I does nothing Can this be fixed?
If the links are not highlighted they are turned off for security purposes. You can turn them back on but I don't remember exacty where. I'm sure it is listed in Windows help files though.

After doing a test with my own e-mail I noticed that the links will not work in anything other than the "inbox". If you open the mail in "junk mail" or "spamkiller" etc. no go. You have to move the mail to inbox first.
Reply:if the link is highlighted in blue ie as a hyperlink all you need to do is to press cntrl key and click on hyperlink .should go straight to link if your internet connection is open

Are their any user satisfication surveys for the Apple Mac mini (Intel editions) published on the web yet?

I know someone who is considering buying one of the new models of Mac mini that came out this year from Apple.

I am wondering if there are any first-hand accounts, or better yet surveys of a lot of people, that helped quantify what problems (if any) people have with it, how fast it seems to run in actual applications usage (web, email, games, whatever), etc.

Are their any user satisfication surveys for the Apple Mac mini (Intel editions) published on the web yet?
Yes go to www.google.com

Then type in:

There is a lot there

About ten years ago, there was a site on the internet that offered a service called Tour the Web, anyone...?

Does anyone remember the site? It might have been called See all the web..or Explore the Web, something like that. It had a survey where the user could select their interests and then the service would show you different sites related to your interests. It was a great service and I would love to see it again.

About ten years ago, there was a site on the internet that offered a service called Tour the Web, anyone...?
um..what...?

Why do many survey sites say you do not have to purchase anything to get free item then tell u must pick some?

I am tired of the web sites that deceive you into purchasing their products and continue to tell you that purchase will not affect you receiving the free gift. As you continue with participation the web site says please choose at least 2 items and so on. These sites are so misleading and I have started sending them to junk mail.

Why do many survey sites say you do not have to purchase anything to get free item then tell u must pick some?
Good for you! These types of things have been around for awhile. Their success depends on people that are easily taken, such as people that are new to the internet. It seems nowadays you always have to be on the lookout for scams or someone on the internet trying to make a quick buck.

There is a large community that feels the same way you do and one such community takes strong offense to those companies or individuals that spam your email. They take advantage of many available technologies and combine their efforts to help you identify spam. The only downside is that your email has to be pop3 enabled in order to use it. Yahoo email requires you to pay to get pop3; Hotmail used to be pop3 for free, but now they require $ as well. Gmail is free and pop3 accesable plus they have pretty good spam filtering as is.

The program I am referring to is called Mailwasher and it is free as well, but a the paid version has more options which most people are happy without.

http://www.mailwasher.net/download/?q=do...
Reply:You need to send almost ALL of them to junk mail. Most of the so-called survey sites are not really survey sites at all, but ad sites that give their advertisers a little something extra, namely your time and whatever marketing research answers they can get from you before you get frustrated and leave empty handed. If you push the button that says "skip this page" every YES dot is filled in, and you are flooded with months of spam. The rules usually are, sign up to try six offers, (two from each "level"), keep track of when you signed up, (if you choose, they make sure to tell you, you can cancel each before the trial period is over), THEN, have a friend from a separate residence ALSO sign up for six offers. The "offers" are varying amounts of financial obligation, usually designated as a silver, gold or platinum-offer levels. Once the ad-distribution house receives confirmation from the business that you've signed up for the free trial AND given them your banking information and permission to start taking funds from your account should you choose to stay or forget to cancel, AND your friend has been pulled into this and has fully complied, then and ONLY then, you will receive amounts varying from approximately $2 to $20 for each "offer" you've accepted in about a month, assuming you have credit for the minimum amount they send at a time. Sometimes, they ask you to do all of this so you can get cheap merchandise as your "reward". PEOPLE!!! The very first thing you should click on in an unfamiliar website is something that will save you hours of frustration--Terms and Conditions!

Does anyone know a company that will field surveys on-line for you?

I've created a survey to ask mass consumers their opinions about digital music. I need a web site where I can post this survey with reasonable traffic. Does anyone know of a company or service that helps you get responses for your survey?

Does anyone know a company that will field surveys on-line for you?
Simply placing your survey on a web site, even your own, won't get you the answers you want.

If you have a list of folks with whom you have done business, or are members of an association to which you belong, email them the questions.

There is a website that will offer that service free on a limited basis. www.surveymonkey.com

Does anyone have verification that paid surveys.com which pays $27.00 per survey is not a?

rip off as they ask for a join fee of $34.00.

i checked other web sites that offer the same deal of making $1000.00 or more a month and all want a joining fee.

do you know someone using these sites and are getting paid?

sounds to good to be true but there is lots out there.

Does anyone have verification that paid surveys.com which pays $27.00 per survey is not a?
All of those big bucks, no experience, little work online jobs are scams. Either they want money up front or they are collecting personal info. The handful of legit call center companies have very long waiting lists and if you get to the top of the list, you won't get enough assignments to make any money.

Instead look to what you know how to do -- babysit, sew, music lessons, woodworking.... start your own business.
Reply:It is a scam.
Reply:They only pay you if you qualify for a survey. You might answer questions until they find out that you're NOT a 35-year-old male who lives in a state with no "o" in it and does not have diabetes and has 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Other than that, you can answer questions all day and you'll never qualify. (never get paid!)
Reply:rule number one

there is nothing free in life

no free xboxs, cell phones, ipods what not

so what that in mind all of these type of site want up front fees, or require you subscribe or join or paid trail membership to what ever, that pays for the costs of what ever you are getting?

why do people think they can still get free stuff?

be leery of any website like 40cashnow or other websites that start with a number then word and make claims of huge money for very little work
Reply:Many people these days are making money online with paid surveys. I have found that these paid surveys are especially suitable for students. Since many students are living with a tight%26lt;!--budget the several hundred dollars that can be made monthly is a big help and the flexibility of taking paid surveys online is a big plus for students as well. To join these companies, you dont need a credit card and the best part is that you dont need to pay anything. Its FREE.

http://freepaidsurveys.awardspace.com/

http://surveyadventure.awardspace.com/

These are three of the top reasons that paid surveys are so well suited to students. Students spend a good--%26gt;part of their time online already. Paid survey sites place a premium on users between the ages of 13-25 3. Most students can benefit from the extra money earned with paid surveys
Reply:They make their money from the people joining the site. One thing none of the survey sites tells you in advance is you must COMPLETE a survey to get paid. The surveys are written to bounce people out when they give one answer the wrong way. As a result, you spend your time trying to figure out what they WANT you to say. Doesn't work. I started over two hundred surveys and got paid for ONE. Oh, they get the answers they really want early in the survey before they bounce you out so they are basically getting your responses for free.
Reply:It's funny that you ask that question because I just paid my joining fee about a month ago and I haven't seen any money rolling in from taking surveys. All I got was annoying spam emails. I did do some surveys, but no further information was received for taking them. I also received emails about receiving $1,000.00 gift cards from Macy's, Applebees, Coach, etc. Don't waste your time or money. I am now one to believe that paid survey offers are scams. Read about them a little before you make your decision. I know you will definitely change your mind.

Are you a newspaper subscriber who frequents the paper's web site?

I was surveyed last week because I have a home subscription to the local daily newspaper and I also frequently visit the online newspaper for my work. Do you use both the print and electronic versions of your local newspaper?

Are you a newspaper subscriber who frequents the paper's web site?
No, afraid not. I have the newspaper delivered bright and early so I read it before going to work and, if I didn't get it all read, read it in the evening but don't visit the website. Frankly, I've been to their website and am not that impressed so now I don't bother.
Reply:Good question. I might... There's something satisfying about being able to read a periodical and not just get news off the screen (computer or TV). That's why I subscribe to Time, too. Report Abuse

Reply:While we frequent the computer for online news, there's no comparison yet for having the local newspaper in your hand while sipping your coffee in the early morning.
Reply:yes, but I work there.
Reply:No, I only peruse the web site. I read the actual newspapers on weekends or when I'm traveling, but I check my local paper's web site every day.
Reply:yes --and no. Our daily is a rag.

try this. it's not really a survey site, more like you look at a wb page for 2 seconds and then write a sentence if you liked it or not. they give you $6 to sign up and $4 for each of these views.

hope it helps.

good luck!
Reply:Your question is very difficult to read. Ever hear of sentences?

Are you asking us for a website that will send you a free camera just out of the good ness of their hearts?

Ummm. I can't imagine why any company would do that. Either save up allowance, do some odd jobs and earn some money, or ask your parents to buy you one.
Reply:my article lists a bunch of sites that will pay you to answer questions about products and stuff. most of them allow members that are 13 and over. these take a little bit of patience to gain money but no credit card is required to sign up and earn cash.

Why can't I get to the web site of netfreehp.com? Bob & Tom on the radio keep announcing it,can'tI find it.

Reply:It's NetFreeHp.com however I believe it's a SCAM.

I also heard about NetFreeCity or NetFreeHp on the radio (duh I don't know why it seemed more legitimate there) a site where you are supposed to be able to get a laptop if you meet certain conditions, and can say from personal experience that it's a scam to get you to give out your information. I have a feeling it's like a mailing list "bank". I signed up on the site about 3 weeks ago and to go back and check the status of your "account" you need a password which they are supposed to provide to you in an email (which they NEVER send). They have NEVER provided ANY emails to me let alone a password email although I requested it numerous times. I also emailed their Tech Support and they never responded. I doubt they ever sent or will ever send a laptop although I spent the time to meet their "conditions" yet would never know because I can't access "my account" because they won't give me a password. To top it off, now I am getting all kinds of SPAM like those Barrister from Nigeria "my third cousin on my father's side whose car fell off a cliff and died and left me millions" emails.

So please, please, please don't waste your time on this!!!!

Whats a good web site were a 13 year old can make money from surveys?

i want 2 star filling out surveys immedtly and not have 2 wait to get them by email

Whats a good web site were a 13 year old can make money from surveys?
DONT DO THOSE! IF you read the terms of service, they can DECIDE how much to pay you, and EVEN IF THEY WANT TO PAY YOU! So, they dont even have to pay you at all. get a real job. like working on a farm for the summer. I did that, at the end of the summer, they pay you all at once, so i got 1,000 dollars, and built muscle. better than sitting on a computer all day, only to get paid like 2 dollars for all your hard work

Are the web sites for paid surveys safe? and do they pay like they say they will?

I really like MyPoints.com You're not gonna get rich but I usually make about $250 to $300 a year on it. I choose the rewards in the form of gift cards....I used alot of it for Xmas presents. It's easy to do...just make sure you click high interest in every category...you get more point opportunities that way. I do 2 other survey sites too but MyPoints is by far the better one for me.

If you're interested, send me an email and I'll have MyPoints send you an invitation. I get points for inviting you...but I won't do it unless you say it's okay.

Are the web sites for paid surveys safe? and do they pay like they say they will?
Alot of survey sites I have found seem to have a few flaws, what happens is they say that they will pay you when you get to say a credit of 30 pounds which is true, but there just isnt enough surveys to get you to 30 pounds, so you'll fill in surveys and get to say 28 pounds and then thats it you have filled in lots of surveys but there just isnt enough to get you to the payout. This way they are not actually lying to you but then again its not entirely right either because they never have to actually pay you because you havent reached the payout.

You just have to make sure that it is a well known site and that other users have had payouts before.

Any legimate survey site, will not ask you money to join them%26lt;!--They actually have to pay us if we join them. Some people do not understand this, and they pay and later they suffer and get frustrated. So is there really any Survey site that pays us? The Answer is, Yes. The best part is that, after you register and confirm the email sent, you will have a chance to win a car. The fun part is that they pay you money for playing games. And you get sometimes $50 for completing offers. Check out the offers area when you log in, you earn more. I personally get paid and you could trust them--%26gt;since they dont ask you any money, you could give a try, there is nothing to lose. Possible spam that sends detailed web site with job offers that are bogus?

I have recieved maybe 4 emails from site saying they saw my resume online and have offered high paying jobs with a link to a site to fillout application. But while continueing the app. process there is always the same field that asks if you want to own your own business. If yes you are redirected but never sent back to the ap. as it says you will. If no you are redirected to a survey site.?? This has become frustrating and time consuming All emails have the simiulatity of ending with the q/a about cont. edu. and owning a bus. Who can you report this to and can you find out who is sending?

Possible spam that sends detailed web site with job offers that are bogus?
Oh gosh, this is called phishing and they are really fishing for your personal information, more than what they've gotten off your resume. If your resume is listed with Hot Jobs or Yahoo, then forward each one of these emails to:

If you received an email impersonating Yahoo! and would like to report it please forward the email to:

mail-spoof@cc.yahoo-inc.com. If you have already been tricked into giving your password, please visit

http://security.yahoo.com/article.html?a...

and follow the instructions there. Also:

http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/lo...

Otherwise, I'd seriously consider removing the resume. Also, this sounds like a browser hijacker, which is spyware. If you don't have antispyware, you need to get it installed and up and running. Get SpyBot Search %26amp; Destroy to safely remove spyware. Best of all, it’s free. After installing it, immunize the computer against over 31,000 known pieces of spyware. Then run a full bot check and remove everything it finds using the Fix Selected Problems tab. Keep it updated and run it weekly to keep your computer free of this stuff. Then get Ad-Aware also from download.com and run it the first time doing a Full System Scan. Thereafter, run a Smart Scan daily.

Keep them both updated and use them.

Working Women have proven capable of overcoming some of the glass ceiling barriers yet continue to face numerous challenges in their progressions to management as they attempt to fulfill work and family responsibilities; as well as satisfy role expectations in both domains often times leading to work-family conflict. To contribute to this research will dispel myths about gender and stereotypes. Please contact me so I may provide you with the web link and we THANK YOU!!

Provide web site for surveys %26amp; Home based work taht really pays and genuine?
I think you've answered your own questions. They're not real.

Any home-based work should come through a legitimate company. Do some research (contact Better Business Bureau and the fraud department of your district attorney's office).

Any company that asks you for money in front is a scam.
Reply:If you do not check a company before entering into a transaction, you could lose your money, time and credibility. Some widely used resources are the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) and the national fraud center ( www.fraud.org) These days, you can easily find out more about a company using the internet in a few minutes. From a company's website, you can details about its ownership, how old the company really is and feedback from the company's customers.

Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.

Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

The article "Earning Money from Surveys" provide a short list of legitimate market research firms and contains explanations of what to look for when joining surveys (and weeding out the fraudulent ones)

Reply:Hi,

To be honest, you are probably not going to find a job working from home. Any opportunities you find that requires a start up fee or money up front is a scam, don't get sucked in!!

I encourage you to immediately put these jobs out of your mind. Here are some of my tips when looking for a job....

Networking - Register at your local Unemployment Office (you don't need to be on unemployment to register for their assistance). They often will have networking groups on a regular basis. They also are a good source for the jobs that never show up in the paper or online.

Check your local paper -- In many cases the paper's classified are now online.

Search Smart Online -- If you don't have a lot of time, spend most of your time at sites that aggregate the job feeds from several job search engines. Prominently these include indeed.com and thingamajob.com.

Organization -- I use a free online application that allows you to track your ads, jobs you apply for, send or print mail merged correspondence, and track your job search history. This site is jobsearchlog.com

I invite you to check it out and you'll be able to keep track of what you apply for.

Good Luck,

Karen

I know people make it sound easy to make money, but they have probably been in the business for 3 or more years, so yes it is easy. Some seem to forget how hard it was or just do not focus on that anymore. I have a business opportunity, but we are looking for people who are willing to work hard now so later they can hardly work. You only really have to put in part time hours and to start, it is not easy, but it gets easier. If you are serious and interested, email me!

How do you all feel about web sites that you can make money just by answering surveys?

I like them, at least the legit ones. You don't make a ton of money, but as a stay at home mom a making a few extra dollars here and there is not bad.

And, since I've been trying to also start a home business selling things printed with my artwork--I am starting to really appreciate how helpful these are to businesses. If I could survey a hundred or a thousand people about which products of mine they liked and how much they would pay for them, I would be less scared to try to buy bulk in stead of using the free service I am now (which doesn't allow me to offer very good prices).

Anyways, I've listed some of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or recieved other rewards like gift cards or CDS) on the following site, if you are interested:

http://www.windhavenweb.com/surveys

I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc. (And yes, if I say they have an affiliate program, I'm part of it, and make a commission when someone signs up through that link...I like to be up front about that).

There are others out there. Be careful though, there are also scams. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.

Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not agregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).

Also just recently came across a good survey ratings site that I've found very helpful:

http://www.surveypolice.com/

How do you all feel about web sites that you can make money just by answering surveys?
in many cases the sole purpose of these sites is to gather email addresses that are then sold to other sites for spam mail and nobody is paid for the survey answers. be careful when responding to so-called survey sites that offer pay.
Reply:If someone were to offer me 10 bucks an hour I'd do it. It would have to be a trusted name. They would probably need to run TV ads for awhile, for example.
Reply:They are so not worth your time. I tried it and it is a real waste. I hear about a woman on Oprah who said she made so much money doing that, she quit her job. so I thought, what the ####, I'll give it a try. It's fine at first, you answer surveys for "money" but when it's time to collect...I couldn't even figure out how to get the money w/o spending money. seriously. to claim your cash, you just have to "fill out and participate in 3 of the following qualifying offers" or something like that and it usually means signing up for a service or giving out your personal info for a refinance or buying something stupid that you don't want. whatever, it's not worth it. that was my experience with about six different sites. save yourself the time and aggravation and find another way to make some extra cash.
Reply:I think there are some real ones out there and if your lucky enough to find it, then it can be a great way at earning extra income but I think most of them are a scam.
Reply:If it's legitimate, power to you!

It's a business thing. If they think that an opinion is worth some money, then it's all good.

Watch out for scams though - they're all over the place. Make sure the site you're at is secure and NEVER give away private information like your SSN or credit card number until you have a VERY good reason to believe that it's safe to do so...I will leave just how far to dig before you're satisfied to your judgment.
Reply:You will not make enough money on the sites to make it worth your time.
Reply:They're ripoffs. You have to sign up for a whole bunch of stuff you don't need, and spend two hours answering questions for(maybe) two dollars.
Reply:Some are legitimate ...but they don't pay very much.

Most of us here spend too much time on line already.

What's next ?

1. WelI I actually take surveys for cash. And yes they do pay as long as you know the good ones. I have some free survey sites that are very reliable just check out my profile by clicking my name or email me for them. I only give sites that I've been paid by so you won't get scammed. They're all reliable and I've never had a problem with them. (I've been doing them for a year now) The best part is that anyone can do them and they're easy. You won't get rich but they definitely help with bills :)

But the real way is starting up a business online. That would be the most reliable and satisfying way ofcourse!

How to Set Up an Online Store

There’s so much to consider when setting up an online store that it can seem downright overwhelming to a would-be ecommerce entrepreneur. From the little details to the bigger ones, you as the owner are responsible for all of it – and practically every last decision point could be treated in an article of its own. Think of this, then, as an overview of the process.

Before you even take the first step of going into business online, you need to ask some of the same questions you’d ask when going into any business. Do you have something to market? That is, can you give your customers something they want, for which they’ll pay you enough money for you to turn a profit? It doesn’t have to be a specific product; it can be a service, or it can even be a combination of the two. One entrepreneur I know writes and maintains custom software for small businesses, blurring the line between a product and a service.

Once you’ve decided what kind of online business you’re getting into, you need to choose a domain name. This is fairly important, since it will be your company’s online identity. Think of Amazon, for example. The point is, all of your customers will remember your URL, so you want to choose one that will stick in their heads, and give a favorable impression. If you’d like to read more about choosing a domain name, there are a number of articles on the subject, including one here on Web Hosters.

So, you know what you’re going to offer for sale, and you’ve chosen your domain name. What’s the next step? You want to register your domain name, and you want to put together a website that will encourage your customers to trust you and buy. Never mind articles; there are literally books that cover the topic of good website design

Building the Site

Here you have several options. If you’re a programmer or website designer (or would like to become one) you could build the site yourself from the code up. Or you could use DreamWeaver or some other HTML editing program to help you build it. You could hire someone else to do it for you. Or you could find and purchase some readymade website templates.

There’s a lot to take into consideration when building a website, whether you’re doing it from scratch or basing it off of templates. Obviously it should be professional-looking. The actual appearance will depend on what exactly you’re selling. Some of the factors you should take into account when setting up your website include:

• How many products do you wish to display? Too few can leave you with a bare-looking website, while too many can look busy and overwhelming to visitors.

• What type of products are you selling? That’s going to affect how many you display, as well as how you display them. You wouldn’t want to display basic furniture in the same way you display highly detailed jewelry, for example.

• Do you have digital pictures of the products? If not, can you obtain them? And are they of a quality that shows off the products to their best advantage? (You should also consider how quickly these pictures will load; you might have to settle for some kind of compromise between highly detailed pictures and faster loading).

• Include item descriptions, prices of items, and discounts (if applicable). Your customers will definitely want to know this information! In order to keep this data up to date on your site with a minimum of hassles, you might need a database or content management system from which the site can pull information.

• You might already have this set up if you’re taking a bricks-and-mortar business online, but you need to keep in mind all of the information that your database requires so that you can keep track of your products and sales. This might include the item number, product ID, a description of the product, and its price. You might also need to know its weight, at the very least so you can calculate shipping costs.

Obviously, if your online business is service-oriented rather than product-oriented, some of these points won’t apply to you. But you still need to build a website that is easy to navigate and not confusing to your customers. You need to tell your customers clearly what to expect from your business. That’s the first step in building trust; it’s important in any business and even more important for an online business where customers often don’t interact with a real person (even in email) before deciding whether or not to place an order.

Choosing Your Web Host

This is a site dedicated to web hosting, after all, so you knew we’d get to this topic sooner or later. Again, there are plenty of articles on this topic (and you can find a few of them on this site). Right now I’m going to cover, very briefly, some of the things you need to look for in a web host, if you want to give your online business startup the best chance of success.

If you’re going to handle any kind of financial transactions through your website, you need to make sure your web host offers secure servers. This means that they offer SSL encryption. You should find out whether your prospective web host offers SSL encryption as part of its regular package or charges extra for this service.

When your website is your storefront, if your website is down, your store is closed – or worse, effectively nonexistent. So you need a web host that offers at least a 99 percent uptime guarantee (and will provide some kind of compensation if it doesn’t live up to its guarantee, so it has some incentive to keep its word). While asking about a web host’s uptime guarantee, you might also inquire as to its back up systems in case of emergencies.

You will also need a private CGI-BIN directory if you are conducting ecommerce through your website. It is into this directory that you upload binary scripts and/or interactive programs. These kinds of programs are involved with payment processing and shopping cart management.

Even small offline businesses try to keep track of customer information and sales records; indeed, if the business is big enough to pay taxes, this is essential. Online businesses have a somewhat easier time of it, since web logs and statistics give them the raw data they need (which of course still needs to be processed and analyzed). Make sure your web host will give you access to your web logs.

How comprehensive is the hosting company’s customer support? You want a company that will offer 24/7 support. May companies say they provide that level of support, but what about the quality of support? This is something you may have to research online at the various web hosting forums. Web hosting customers will be quite forthright in the condemnation of a bad host.

Of Payments and Shopping Carts

Obviously, this is one part of the business you have a strong incentive to get right. There are a number of options here. You can buy an online shopping cart program. You can use the services of an application service provider (ASP) to manage a shopping cart system for you. Or you can program a shopping cart yourself. Some web hosts offer a shopping cart program you can use on your website; you might want to look into that as well.

Googling “shopping cart services” (without the quotes) turns up hundreds of millions of web pages. You might find it is worth shopping around to compare prices, features, and customer service. If you have friends who engage in ecommerce, you might also check with them as to their shopping cart services.

Buying a shopping cart program can be an expensive option; you can expect to spend at least $200 if you choose that route, and some shopping carts cost $800 or more. Some shopping cart software might seem affordable at first, but then the company charges you extra if you want certain plug-ins (such as one that lets you display the shipping rates from all the shippers you use at the same time). You might want to put this off until you are more established and have a good idea of what shopping cart features are most important to you and your customers.

Your best option might be following through with a decision you may have made earlier, when you built your website: using ecommerce website templates. Many of those have shopping cart systems pre-installed. They make setting up an online store quick and easy.

Shopping carts bring up the issue of how you will accept payments. If you are doing business on the Internet, you’ll want a way to accept instant payment from your customers. PayPal might work for a while when you’re starting out, but you’ll need a more direct way to accept credit cards. That means you’ll need a merchant account from a bank or financial institution that accepts Internet transactions

I haven’t covered everything involved in setting up an online business, but I hope I’ve given you some idea of what’s involved. Take it step by step, and you’ll be on your way to success!

Reply:Simply by taking surveys
Reply:look at my profile, and visit the site under "about me"...sign up there....here is some information about the site:

This is a site from which you are given the chance to earn money. What you have to do is complete surveys and offers for companies that want the public's opinion. By doing this, you are able to earn money very easily for simply giving your opinion or trying out sample products. This is a great service that allows one to work from home, on their spare time, at their leisure, and still bring in a nice sum of money every month. People have made up to $1000 easily on this site by just working on it in their spare time. It is not going to replace a real job's salary, but it is a very nice bonus. There are also many features on this web site, such as contests and special surveys, from which you can redeem extra prizes that would be sent to you with your monthly cheque, such as iPods, Xbox 360s, PSPs, gift certificates, and much more.

Cheques are sent monthly, and usually arrive about a week or a week and a half into the next month. No payment from you is ever required, not to sign up, not EVER. Unlike other sites that try to scam people out of their money, this site never requires you to pay them.

"If the site doesn't get paid from me, then why would they have this service going?" - The site doesn't get paid directly from you, but when you complete an offer or survey, they also get paid a small portion of what you earned yourself. For example, if you complete a survey about computers let's say, you would earn maybe $2 and the web site itself would recieve $0.50 from the company also for getting you to complete the survey. These surveys take little time at all, most taking up less than even 1 or 2 minutes of your time.

Fraud is also a big deal on the Internet these days, and this site recognizes that. That is why they ask for ONLY three bits of information: Your name, email address and your home address. Yup, that is all. No credit card information, no banking information, nothing like that. All they require is your name and address so that your cheque can be sent to your home every month. Your email address is only required to confirm that you have done the offers and surveys. Fortunately, no spam mail or junk mail is ever sent out by this site and your information is never shared with any other company.

Personally I have been a member of this website, along with thousands of other satisfied users, for approximately 1.5 years now and have earned well over $3500 by working in my spare time. This web site has been great to me, also the members and administrator are very friendly, and are always there to help you with a question or problem you may be having. So far, I've listed only positives about this site, because I can't think of a single negative thing about it. Earn money in your spare time, at no cost to you...Easy as that!

Of course....Not!!!!
Reply:Not sure what you mean by "scam free" but from my experiences they don't pay. Most survey's i've done in the past all said, "Complete this survey and receive a check for $10" Upon reading the fine print when you completed that survey, you were just entering for a drawing prize of $10. So you could complete 20 survey's and not have your name drawn at all.

Years ago a manager I worked with told me about a website that would pay you so much money for surfing the web. You had to register, but once you did, there was a banner you had to have open while you surfed the web. Everything was legit but the only way to earn money was to click links. Running a script program wouldn't work with it, so for the amount of money it paid to do this it just wasn't worth it and I unsubscribed. That's when I came across the surveys, I went to the website and it was now a "paid for surveys" website, but as I mentioned, you were only completing a survey to have your name entered into a monthly drawing for $10.

Reply:I have found four legitimate work at home sites so far, and one of them made me $494+ in October, $700+ in November, and $838.57 in December. They are free to join.

Please click my screen name or avatar for more information and a link for proof of payment and lots of specific details.

I made some nice money at first, but once I found out these sites were legitimate, I started adding referrals and the money got a lot better. For every person you refer, you get 20% of what they earn. And for every person that one of your referrals refer you get 10% on one site and 5% on the other. In time--this could be a great source of income--making money while other people are in a sense, working for you.

If you get 5 referrals who earn $20 a month, that is an extra $20 in your pocket. If you get 100 referrals earning $20 a month, that is an extra $400 you'll earn every month!!!

And by the way--never join a work at home program that wants you to pay up front. If they were making that much money, they wouldn't need to charge you.

Note: There is a third site whose referral program works a bit differently, but they have a really high payout.
Reply:Well there is a company called emailcash that does it, however you have to heaps of surveys before they pay you.

Help to use Land Survey Object 1, Total Station. 2, Tacheometer 3, Theodolite etc?
Using a total station and a theodolite is prob.not something that you are going to learn by reading.

You can learn the concept of how they work and what their function is, but actual, practical use is going to come from hands on teaching.

Just trying to set one up will teach you that.

But.. google 'surveyor' or 'surveying' and you will find a lot of links and information on these instruments.

http://shellcash.com/members/register.ph... is a great way to make extra money. The site will ask you to complete surveys and offers and those companies will then pay you. Unlike most work at home jobs this is one is really legit and actually sends real checks to you at the end of the month. I have already made over $2500+ from this website and keep it mind that everything is free.I will love to answer any questions that you might have regarding this just contact me:

Which is the best business segment that can work from home for women?
I searched and searched to work from home and yes most sites are scams. I was not sure about this one until by best friend for 39 years told me about it. she loved the product and did not need the money but she joined to get the discount. she feels great every day. she is 46 and feels like 16!!! she also gets a check every month for $4500. I just got into it myself because I Too feel better than ever after taking STEM ENHANCE. This is not a scam. Everyone that takes it can't believe it. My friends father is very wealthy and a smart business man. He also takes it. If you want to know more about it go to lvetter.stemtechbiz.com. This is all natural and is no different than taking any other vitamin or supplement.

Are there any members of panda research the paid survey site among you....?

I visited the web site and it read in faq that it they pay for survey through pay pal and it could take up to 6 weeks to get paid. Has that been your experience..... does it really take that long to get paid to answer the surveys they offer?

Are there any members of panda research the paid survey site among you....?
Panda Survey has minimum earnings level before they send your payment to you; and given the low pay per survey it can a year before you can even see your first $100

The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.

Reply:Honestly, I doubt there is any website out there that would just hand you a free laptop without making you fill out a survey or give out personal information. Most of the things you see advertised are either scams or just a way to lure you to a website. Sorry to disappoint, but that's that. However, you can browse the internet or local tech shops and find a good laptop for a relatively low price. Wish you the best of luck!

CLICK MY AVATAR!!

I HAVE OVER 30 LEGIT SITES LISTED THAT PAY!!

YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO PAY A DIME!!!
Reply:I've listed most of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or received other rewards like gift cards or CD'S) on the following webpage:

http://www.windhavenweb.com/surveys

I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc. (And yes, if I say they have an affiliate program, I'm part of it, and make a commission when someone signs up through that link...I like to be up front about that).

As you're searching, here are some tips to avoid scams.

Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not aggregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).

Also, never sign up for a survey through an unsolicited e-mail--since these might not even be from the site they claim to be, but could be a phishing scheme to get your information and mis-use it.

Here are two other sites which are very helpful

Reply:You would be crazy not to sign up at this site! I make regular money each month and I made $20 on my first survey. Make sure to refer your friends and co-workers because that helps boost your income!

SurveySavvy.com is unique from other companies because their patented referral program pays you an average of $2.00 for every survey your referrals complete and an average of $1.00 for every survey their referrals complete. This is cash you can earn regardless of whether or not you complete any surveys.

are these real ad's or hokes. if yes does any one really make money out of these survey ads.

On line survey AD's Is it real deal!!?
I'm a member of a couple of these sites, and you can make money. However, it's never as much as they say. You can get 1-3 dollars per survey, some up to 10, but you have to qualify (certain geographic location, age, etc). The ones you do qualify for can take 30 minutes to complete. I tend to make about $15 a month. Fun for extra cash, but you can't really quit your day job for it.
Reply:I have been doing online surveys for around a year now %26amp; in sharing my experience, I have FINALLY found a guide that offers a detailed look into legit free paid online surveys here:

I believe this website will help you in your endeavors. The video tutorials can help ease the process of entering into paid survey sites. They also have proof of payment pictures to show that these sites are not scams.

*the key is not to just sign up for one site and expect loads of riches, but to sign up for a few and have the smaller checks add up*

*if you ever have to pull out a credit card, its not worth it*
Reply:it may be true. I've made as much as $20 for one survey, but have come across many sites that are a scam. The best I've found so far is surveysavy, I've actually made $900 from them in a little over a year. Here's a link if you want to sign up:

What web hosting service should I use?

I've been looking all over at different websites, but none of them are very clear.

Here's what I need from a web-hosting service, and I'd appreciate it greatly if someone could give me a good recommendation.

I need: something that will work with a mac (most sites don't say specifically whether their services are compatible with macs), a monthly payment plan, a service that will include a personalized domain name (only one domain name) in the plan/price, Japanese language capable, ability to run a small business, photo video and blog capable, a decent editing program that doesn't require advanced html/web design knowledge, and at a decent price for a poor college student. The following are not neccessary, but I would like something with personalized error pages, and a decent amount of storage space (10 gigs at least), guest book mailing list and survey ability, and decent customer service.

I liked the look of Host Monster the best, but they don't have a monthly payment plan. Help plz?

What web hosting service should I use?
webspacesolutions.com

$10 to purchase the domain.

then hosting plans with everything you need/listed can range from $5-$10/month, cheapest. (I believe).

used to use them and loved it. simple interface. control panel. everything.
Reply:I'd go with dreamhost.com. You can pay monthly and I have various discount codes at http://gbroon.com/dreamhost_promotion you can use to bring the price down.

The cheapest way is to use a code for a $97 discount that makes it work out at around $22 for the first year then after that you can switch to monthly withoout paying the set up fee.

It has various software you can install via one-click install in the panel.

As to disk space it offers 500gb.

Its based in California but you can sign up from any country. Payment can be by paypal, credit card or cheque.

Are there any type at home or data entry type web sites out there that do not cost you anything to join?

I am not looking for take surveys from home stuff, and I don't want a sight that say free then when you get to the end of the page they give you a price. If you have tried it please let me know, I'm tired of waisting my time with this.

Are there any type at home or data entry type web sites out there that do not cost you anything to join?
There are legit home based jobs (no surveys)

http://www.pcworkathome.net

No joining or paying for it (unless you decide to sign up for their free email alerts, I guess that could be considered joining) , it is just a large list of real companies that have home based jobs.

If you have good typing speed it helps as many want that.
Reply:i've joined a lot of so-called FREE online moneymakers, ended up NOT free at all because you had to waste a lot of time and effort, even money to advertise, to earn pennies and i lost..

i wish i'd encountered joining as a mortgage loan officer 2 years ago even if i paid $200 (for training and very useful software tools you'll need), closing a single loan earned me a $1000 in one sitting.. so if you're considering a FREE moneymaker to join in, be prepared to invest more for the least return.. but if you're serious, here's the way to go-
Reply:You are wasting your time if you are trying to find a company that is going to pay you money with no money down. Rather than ask the cost of an opportunity to make money, think of it in terms of investment. Would you invest $100 a month if it could potentially make you 50,000 a year? I know I would. Rich people think in terms of return on investment. People who always want to know what it cost up front never become rich. Take a chance and make an investment. It could change your life.
Reply:I have 2 great things taht you can try. I can't post it on here, but if you send me an email, I'd be glad to give it to you. it's not a scam!!! Trust me, i signed up for tons of things that I later found out you had to pay for. I don't want you to waste your time because I know how irritating it is. Just send me an email and I'll send it.

Sorry I can't put it on here because it would be advertising! I already got reported for that before!
